Task 1

  • Your job is to produce a Powerpoint presentation about yourself that you will present to the rest of the class when it is complete.
  • Look at this presentation by a student called Pat. Do you think this is a good presentation? What will you do in your presentation after watching this one?
  • Plan your presentation
    • What will be on each slide
        • What information do you want to give people about yourself
          • Your name
          • What is your home country
          • What is your home country famous for
          • What languages do you speak, what does your language look like
          • Who are the members of your family
          • What are your hobbies
          • Do you have any pets
          • Favourite music
          • What else would you like to put in your presentation
  • Create at least 10 slides with headings so that you know the order of your presentation
  • Format the text so that your presentation has the look that you want
  • Save your work in the correct place - Your teacher will help you with this.

Objectives

  • Search for images using google image advanced search
  • Learn about choosing images suitable for a particular audience and purpose.

  • Insert at least one image from the internet

  1. Discuss different image types - vector and bitmap - use ppt
  2. Watch a demo by your teacher on how to do an image search using clipart. Then insert some appropriate images into your presentation
  3. Demo inserting a saved image (Insert image from file)
  4. Demo an image search using Google image search

  • learn about choosing appropriate fonts and colours
  • learn about some of the 'rules' which apply to fonts and colours in publications
