In this activity you will learn:

  • Rules for a good booklet design
  • How to create a draft booklet (remember the design cycle)

I am looking for you to:

  • Share your ideas about good learning and teaching
  • Create rules for a good booklet
  • Start a booklet using a wizard

Section 1

Copy the questions below and then paste them into a word document and answer them.

  1. What helps you to learn better?
  2. What makes someone a really good teacher?
  3. If you could choose, what would you like to learn?

Share your ideas with the rest of the class

Section 2

Look at the Fair Trade Leaflet design.

You need to answer the questions:
  1. What is consistent in the design?
  2. What is good about the design?
  3. What could be improved?

You will need to be prepared to share your ideas with the rest of the class

Section 3 - creating your own leaflet

Fold a piece of paper like a birthday card. Number the pages 1-4. Give each panel a title:

1 = A right to learn
2 = How I learn best
3 = My ideal teacher
4 = What I would like to learn

Write your name on the front page. You need to sketch your ideas onto this piece of paper.

Your teacher will show you how to create a 4 panel leaflet. In Microsoft Publisher 2003 his is called a side fold card and is availabel in the blank publications options

Transfer your ideas onto the leaflet. Make sure you save your ideas on your leaflet.
